HighestWire is an online news service designed to collect varying perspectives on issues that affect students around the world and then provide students with a forum in which to discuss and compare their ideas. Highestwire asks its participants to report on local issues that play a role in their daily lives and interactions and then to expand their horizons with the issues other students bring to the table. The differences and similarities in the nature of topics will then provide grounds for further discussion of underlying principles.
Highestwire is open to high school and college students interested in investigating ideas and contributing about their communities. Entries need to include the author's name, location and school, and the piece should be clearly marked with some form of title or identifying headline.
